What Should You Look for in a Real Estate Agent when Selling Your Investment Property? 

It’s important to find the right person to sell your property. We look at the top five qualities to look for in a real estate agent. 

1. Knowledge 

Your real estate agent should be a property expert who can help guide your decisions at each stage of the sales process. A good real estate agent will understand the NZ housing market, know your local area and be able to advise you on the method of sale that is right for your property. They will also be up-to-date on local planning changes, council compliances and property law.

Experience is a key quality for a real estate agent. The best real estate agents have an established network of contacts, an understanding of what motivates buyers and a proven track record.  

3. Great people skills 

Excellent people skills are essential for successful real estate agents. Great agents are not only easy to talk to but great listeners. A top agent will understand your needs as well as the needs of potential buyers. They will be able to adapt their communication style and communicate with you through your chosen medium, be it phone call, email or text message.
